ABC Announcer: The Federal Member for Lyons, DickAdams, has talked up the benefits Gunns Pulp Mill would bring to the tourism industry in the DerwentValley.
Mr Adams and the Opposition Spokesperson for Transport and Tourism, Martin Ferguson, met locals yesterday to discuss the inactive Derwent Valley Railway.
Mr
Adams
said the Pulp Mill will result in upgrades to Tasmania’s rail infrastructure that would revitalise the DerwentValley and New Norfolk.
DICK
ADAMS
: “They want to get back on to the rail, they want to run those passenger trains they were running before from Hobart back into the DerwentValley.
We can do that in a bigger way and as I said, build products back into the DerwentValley from a tourists perspective.”
